That’s For Sure
Nothing endures but change.
- Heraclitus (535–475 BC)
Stop, Watch and Go
That’s For Sure!
Inspired by Heraclitus (535–475 BC)’s quote, “Nothing endures but change.” The titled responsion is…
Running counter to intuition yet factual in argumentation, the approach towards change is chaotic. Tic-Toc-ing away, time marks the movement forward one perceptible moment after another. Expand on these themes.
Free O’Clock Somewhere, Sometimes
Inspired by Anthony Trollope (1815–1882)’s quote, “Three hours a day will produce as much as a man ought to write.”. The titled responsion is…
Not everyone has the luxury to write. Regardless of time allocated, the point that Anthony Trollope is making in the above quote is that no additional benefit is achieved by spending more than three hours per day on producing written output. Considering Anthony’s prodigious output of non-fiction, novels, plays and short stories, and his lack of technological tools, why are we not able to greatly exceed his output with our current access to information and tools of the trade? On the other hand maybe this is a little bit of self deprecation from the Victorian era. Imagine a world where technology actually worked for you and work-life was a contradiction in all certain terms.
Paint with Light All in Good Time
Inspired by John Berger (1926–2017)’s quote, “What makes photography a strange invention is that its primary raw materials are light and time.” The titled responsion is a euphemistic play on words. All in good time paints an allusion of wisdom achieved through patience and perseverance whereas the light metaphor is more of a reference to Rembrandt than the son of any God. Take your pick, whatever works for you.
